About Darren

Darren comes alive when he is in the ‘wild’. Outdoor adventure runs in his veins. He knows the importance of real relationships and values quality and efficiency. He’s a carpenter, a do-er, an abstract thinker, an ideas man.

He knows about perseverance. In the past 12 years he’s completed three Oxfam Trailwalker 100km events, The North Face 100km ultra-marathon and the Kokoda track.

He has a heart for young people. He’s been a RedFrogs volunteer Team Leader, worked at youth summer camps and now works as a Team Leader for Operation Flinders Foundation which runs a world leading wilderness adventure program for young offenders and young people at risk.

He is Remote First Aid certified, has a QLD Blue Card and a Certificate in non-violent crisis intervention.

For over 15 years Darren and his wife Leah have loved discovering the outdoors and have travelled most of Australia together and now travel with their four children.

‘When we get outside we discover new things – about the earth, ourselves and each other. It’s life in the purest form. It’s our therapy.’

Around the campfire, when the flames burn hot and low, if you ask Darren, he might just share some words that continue to shape his life. Words that are worth sharing.

About Leah

The outdoors is good for my soul. It is there I find rest.  

Support Crew is the pulling together of all the things Leah has grown to love – nurturing relationships,  fostering connectivity with others and the earth, and having fun in the outdoors. With a background in event management, marketing and client relations, Leah is perfectly placed to help you plan your outdoor adventure.

Her mothering journey continues to equip her and provide community connections to help support all types of families.
